Rams’ WR Odell Beckham Jr has refuted the possibility of returning to Giants
Odell Beckham Jr finally has a Super Bowl ring. The superstar wide receiver deservedly got his honor this year when the LA Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals last month.
Beckham joined the NFC West division side midway through the 2021 season. He played a key role in getting them to the Super Bowl after Robert Woods suffered a season-ending knee injury. But Beckham is set to become a free agent in just over two weeks’ time.
The 28-year-old is currently nursing a torn ACL, an injury he suffered at the Super Bowl, and it could be a while before he returns to the playing field. But there are still bound to be a number of suitors prepared to sign him for big money in the offseason.
His former team, the New York Giants have also been reported to be eager to bring him back to the ‘Big Apple’. However, judging by Beckham’s social media activity, it doesn’t seem like the three-time Pro Bowler will return to the Giants.
Earlier on Monday, Odell Beckham was scrolling through his Twitter feed and left some of his followers stunned when he responded to journalist Sean Alcide.
Alcide responded to a personal tweet by Beckham about leaving LA and asked the recently-crowned Super Bowl champion whether he was open to a return to New York.
However, Beckham was clear that he didn’t want anything to do with a return to the Giants. “Nah, bro. I don’t wanna be a problem and locker room cancer,” he responded.
Beckham spent four seasons with the Giants from 2014 until 2018. But his time there was overshadowed by on-field fights with Josh Norman, sideline antics and rather strange interviews. He was then traded to the Cleveland Browns after a falling out with GM Dave Gettleman.
At Cleveland, Beckham encountered similar problems and was labelled as a ‘problem child’. He eventually was then moved on to LA and helped the Rams to their second Super Bowl this year.
