The bromance between Patrick Mahomes and his star tight end – Travis Kelce seems to be a never-ending affair. Game after game, fans have not only seen these two combining ever so well for the Kansas City Chiefs, but their combined efforts have also brought the ‘confidence-booster’ wins for Andy Reid’s team.
After being down by 4 points in the latter stages of their most recent contest against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 11, it was Mahomes’ magic with Travis Kelce, which saw the Chiefs register their 8th win of the 2022-23 season.
Kansas City Chiefs’ QB threw three TouchDowns passes to the veteran tight end, which ensured that Kelce ended the game with 115 yards on six receptions, surpassing Rob Gronkowski for the most games with a minimum 100 receiving yards. The 33-year-old star is also the second personnel in 150-yard tally, fifth in receptions yards and sixth in reception TDs among all other tight ends in the history of NFL.
After winning the game against the Chargers, and by getting even closer to the payoffs, Mahomes could not help but deem Travis Kelce as the Greatest Tight End of all time.
“He’s the greatest tight end of all time,” Mahomes said after Sunday’s victory, per Ari Meirov of PFF.
It has to be said that Kelce has ample time to compete with Rob for the GOAT case, yet Mahomes forgot someone is also on the same list. None other than, Kansas City Chiefs’ very own legend in Tony Gonzalez. The Hall of Famer has been considered the ‘ideal standard’ of all tight ends. No other tight end has been as consistent and as dominant as he was in the position. Is Kelce better than him? Let us know in the comments down below.
