Even when the stakes were so high with Kansas City Chiefs being one of the best teams in the 2022-23 season, Cincinnati Bengals have been able to beat them, for a third straight time. This led Patrick Mahomes revealing his true emotions after just not being able to get past one particular opposition.
Having lost 24-27 in the rematch of last year’s AFC Championship Game, it was Patrick Mahomes’ side who led by 7 points, entering the fourth quarter. Safe to say, that if wasn’t for a missed field goal and a gigantic fumble – Mahomes could have handed his conference rivals a loss, first one to Joe Burrow in particular, against him.
“They got a great quarterback. He’s a guy that’s won a lot of football games from college to the NFL. He’s someone that competes to the very end, too. They got playmakers all over there. They’re well-coached and have a good defense. And at the end of the day, they executed at a higher level,” Mahomes said of the brutal loss to the Bengals, per Kansas Sports Tribune.
To talk about the individual performances, Joe Burrow finished the game with two TouchDowns after completing 25 of his 31 passes for 286 yards.
Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes only had one passing TouchDown on 16-of-27 pass completion, though he made a score on the ground as well. But it wasn’t enough for his team to secure a win in this contest.
That being said, despite this loss – the Kansas City Chiefs are 9-3, atop of AFC West. Perhaps there is time for this team to look into their voids and make a comeback if they would face the same opposition in the playoffs.
