Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs is confident about his tools for the upcoming season.
The Kansas City Chiefs will be without Tyreek Hill for the upcoming season. The star WR was traded to the Dolphins, and the Chiefs’ offense will have a very different outlook.
Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback of the Chiefs has already stated how excited he is to embrace the challenge of playing without Tyreek. Moreover, the Chiefs have added some great players to their WR core, and Mahomes might not miss Tyreek at all.
Mahomes himself has appreciated his new WR core. He thinks they now have more options to go to, and as a result, it makes the Chiefs a lot scarier.
Talking about his newly looked WR core, Mahomes said, “That’s what you’re going to see with this offense this year, It’s going to be everybody. It’s not all going to be one guy. Obviously [Travis Kelce] is still going to get a lot of completions, a lot of yards but the whole receiving room is going to have big days and that can be something we use to our advantage.”
“It’s a very deep receiving room”- Patrick Mahomes on the Chiefs’ depth at the WR position
The Chiefs largely depended on Tyreek to produce magnificent plays throughout the season. As a result, there was no pressure on other receivers. Moreover, the other receivers didn’t even get proper chances.
The situation has changed completely for the next season. With Tyreek gone, everyone in the WR room will be needed to step up and come up with the big plays. Patrick Mahomes has full trust in his receivers and he is looking forward to the next season.
Mahomes said, “It’s a very deep receiving room. It’s hard to tell which guys are going to make it because we’ve got so many good receivers. That’s what you want. You want that competition. You want guys competing every single day to make the roster because they’re going to help us in the end.”
