Steelers drafted Kenny Pickett in the 1st round of the NFL Draft 2022.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have found their new quarterback for the future and it is Kenny Pickett. Following the retirement of Ben Roethlisberger, the franchise needed a quarterback who can be their ‘Franchise QB.’
Many thought that the Steelers will go for Malik Willis, but they surprised everyone and went for the hometown hero Pickett, who played in Pittsburgh only during his college days.
Kenny Pickett is considered the ‘most ready’ quarterback of this class, and playing for the Steelers will be the perfect situation for him in terms of his culture.
The Steelers already have a winning culture with coach Mike Tomlin, and the inclusion of Brian Flores in their coaching staff has also made them a better team.
However, it is quite unlikely that Kenny Pickett will be directly slotted into as the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the upcoming season.
The Pittsburgh Steelers recently signed the former Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky for a 2-years deal. He was considered to be the starting QB for the franchise next season.
However, the draft of Kenny Pickett might create some questions for the team on who will start for the Steelers next season. It is highly likely that Mitch will still be the starting QB for the Steelers to start the season.
As Kenny Pickett will work under his wing to start his career, and whenever the moment is right, he will slot in to replace him, if he is capable of it.
The Steelers fans should be very excited for their future, as they now have got two good quarterbacks who’ll fight for the starting role on the team.
