Former player Danny McCray discusses his journey from NFL to Survivor
Danny McCray has become the latest entrant in the show Survivor. McCray is a former NFL athlete who was a part of the Dallas Cowboys team. He played in the NFL for six seasons before becoming a free agent in 2015.
McCray revealed what made him join the cast Survivor where he said (h/t Dallas Cowboys) :
“I was trying to find a way to satisfy this craving to compete. Survivor is a show I was binge-watching after I retired from the NFL, and I was imagining myself competing better than some of the guys I’d seen before me on the show. Better specifically than the Alan Ball-types. I figured I could do it. My wife gave me the OK, and I sent in an audition tape and they accepted me. That’s how I got started.”
McCray has certainly not lost his will to compete. He be featuring in the 41st season of Survivor.
Is competing with cast members in Survivor easier than defending in NFL?
McCray had quite an interesting answer to this as he revealed that he felt like competing in Survivor was tougher than in the NFL. He said:
“While defending I knew that the opposition wanted to run past me, But on Survivor you never know what people are trying to do”
McCray made it known that Survivor is absolutely unpredictable. He also mentions how competitive it gets at Survivor and no one can be trusted as everyone wants to win the show and get their hands on $1 million.
This is why he feels that Survivor was more tough than defending in the NFL.
