“I’m kind of lost for words”: Saints WR Michael Thomas is excited to make a return for his team

Michael Thomas is making a return to the field after a lengthy spell on the sidelines, and he is very excited about it.

As the New Orleans Saints kicked off training camp on Wednesday, Michael Thomas returned to the practice field for the first time in 18 months. It was a significant step in the star receiver’s rehabilitation following numerous ankle operations.

With the exception of full-team drills, Thomas, who underwent his most recent surgery in November, took part in every aspect of practice. He appeared uninjured, and there were no obvious braces or wrappings on the left ankle, which had been hurt in Week 1 of the 2020 season.

Talking about his return, Michael Thomas said, “Man, I’m kind of lost for words. I didn’t want to come up here and get emotional or anything. But it was a blessing to be back out there with the guys.”

He added, “I’m just happy to be trending now in the right direction and handling my business. … And I take pride in that challenge.” Thomas will be crucial for a big season for his team ahead.

With Michael Thomas returning from injury, and the Saints also adding Jarvis Landry(free agent) and Christian Olave from the draft, they might be the best WR trio in the league. It could be a very exciting season for the Saints, as their team is looking pretty great.
