Tua Tagovailoa went onto suffer from another devastating hit when his Miami Dolphins endured their first loss of the 2022-23 season against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday. In just the span of 5 days, Tua went onto to be taken off from the field twice, which made Stephen A Smith point fingers at the personnel responsible.
When Tua Tagovailoa took a hefty hit in Week 3, he seemingly wanted to get up but went down on his knees due to a concussion. However, the star Quarterback came out in the second half to lead his team but surely wasn’t on full strength. The reciprocations of which he had to suffer from in Week 4 against Bengals.
Stephen A Smith quoted on the latest episode of First Take, “Somebody needs to be fired. Now I don’t know who but somebody’s got to go. Very least a suspension. I don’t know if it was the doctors or the trainers that examined him (Tua Tagovailoa) at half time at the Buffalo game and put him in. Listen to what the folks are saying since the last night transpired with Tua. They said you had a concussion and it’s easy to get another one.”
In the second quarter of Bengals vs Dolphins – Tua Tagovailoa was held captive by defensives linesman – Josh Tupou, who pulled the former down to the ground. Result of which, Tua struck his elbow and helmet with force on the ground.
Smith concluded, “In the span of 4 to 5 days, I didn’t see him (Tua Tagovailoa) holding his back for one time, not one-time on Sunday. I’m looking at the NFLPA – Get your investigation going. The NFL – Found out what the hell is going on. And guess who I’m holding accountable to some degree – his teammates.”
That being said, the veteran sports media analyst does raise a good point as more serious measures need to be taken for the player’s health and well-being. Especially when majority of the season is yet to be completed.
