It’s been a while since New York Giants have been relevant in the league by the time October approaches. However, they are in the 2022-23 season, courtesy to their marquee star Saquon Barkley. This dynamic playmaker has changed the face of the franchise on its head and is not showing any signs of slowing down.
On one hand where New York Giants are seriously lacking some big-play ability from its wide receiver room. On the other, there has been Saquon Barkley who is efficiently showcasing his home-run ability in every game to inspire the Giants to a win anyhow. Making sure that one part of the offensive game plan that went swimmingly.
Interestingly this spoken off team has rushed for 262 total yards, with Saquon Barkley collecting 146 of them on 31 carries. To those who are not aware, this was Barkley’s second effort of 100 plus yards in the 2022-23 season and fourth straight week he’s collected at least 70. To simplify, all this has brought Saquon Barkley’s total rushing yards to 463, which is the most in the by any player in the 2022-23 season.
Indeed, it is safe to say that is appears like Saquon Barkley wants to get past Tiki Barbers’ franchise record of 1,860 rushing yards of 2004. Before which Tiki broke his own record the following year. In 2006, he landed right in the middle with 1,662 yards. On the same note, Barkley is not far behind with his 1,307 rushing yards as a rookie – the most in New York Giants’ history.
That being said, there is no doubt that Saquon Barkley needs to bring his A-Game to be the table each matchday if the Giants wants to register a win or even contest for a win, given their voids in the air and while framing attacks on their opposition territory.
Lastly, with just 130 more yards required to reach last season’s total, will we witness Saquon Barkley registering himself as one of the greatest ever running back? Remains to be seen, but for now it is indeed safe to urge that this 25-year-old has got all the eyes on him.
