Aaron Rodgers had set quite a high standard for own self before the 2022-23 season began. Knowing that the team has lost Davante Adams, the reigning MVP still came to represent the Green Bay packers on the field, despite rumors of him retiring with a Super Bowl accolade registered against his name.
However, his antics off the court, followed by performances/leadership on the court have been inexplicable. The same was pointed out by sports media analyst – Stephen A Smith, who once again not only blames Aaron Rodgers for adding to the team’s struggles. But, also to be the reason why Davante Adams left.
He said on the latest episode of First Take, “This is on him. Listen, there’s receivers dropping balls and other stuff, we get all of that. But he was the one who threw two interceptions inside the 5-yard line. That’s incredibly uncharacteristic of Aaron Rodgers. One could argue that it’s the worst game we have seen him play…I am going to religiously blame Aaron Rodgers for this reason and this reason alone: You don’t lose Davante Adams!”
Scoring just nine points against the worst rated defense in the league is the biggest embarrassment in a season one could face. It adds when you’re the reigning MVP – such has been the case for Aaron Rodgers. To support the verdict given by Stephen A Smith, one would really argue that it was the worst performance of his professional career, with three incredibly ugly interceptions and somehow even uglier body language.
That being said, Rodgers as done nothing applaud-worthy in the first 9 games of the current season. Is it the beginning of his end? Or does Rodgers have one last pin to make a comeback to silence all his critics? Remains to be seen.
