When the Miami Dolphins scored 28 points in the fourth quarter against the Baltimore Ravens, majority of the analysts credited Tua Tagovailoa, Jaylen Wardell and Tyreek Hill for their brilliance. But Stephen A Smith has looked in the other direction – to blame Ravens of their dangerous lapses, which are not improving whatsoever.
On one hand where Lamar Jackson had a historic individual night for the Baltimore Ravens, their defensive unit leaked points in the most crucial quarter of the game. With Tua and Hill combining for numerous points and passes, Ravens’ could not get a catch of the vertical passing-game by their opposition.
Smith quoted on First Take, “Would like to remind you that the Baltimore Ravens are a catastrophe. The Baltimore Ravens should be ashamed of themselves. You are an embarrassment to the legacy of previous Baltimore Ravens defense.
The veteran sports media personality compared the likes of legendary – Ray Lewis and Ed Reed to the modern-day defensive line and strategies. And even emphasized how those legend would be coming up to the next practices session to protect their own pride and motivate this defensive unit to value the name of the franchise.
Stephen A Smith added, “John Harbaugh is known to see the defense which is the synonym for greatness. This is not that defense. I’m not talking about their last defense, but over the last 19 games – look at the numbers – the worst defense in the National Football League. You are an embarrassment and an utter disgrace to the legacy that has been established at Baltimore.”
While you may find it amusing how Stephen A Smith goes onto rant about the Baltimore Ravens, the points he’s stressing about are to be taken seriously by John Harbaugh’s current team. Will we witness any change in strategy heading into Week 2? Remains to be seen.
