Is Jacksonville Jaguars’ star Trevor Lawrence primed for the massive sophomore season? Veteran sports media personality, Nick Wright feels so. Can the unprecedented high-school stud, who boasted a record of winning 29 consecutive contests come up big for his team in the upcoming 2022-23 season? Wright seems to lead the optimistic chants for this 22-year-old.
Trevor Lawrence was an unflappable force, yet unfortunately for him, his slump started right at the beginning of his rookie season with the Jaguars. Probably this was the first time in Lawrence’s career that the opposition players were just as fierce, huge, fast, and strong as him. Resulting in the #1 2021 Draft pick registering a shambolic 3-14 record. However, this has not led Wright to feel any different about the potential of this young stud, especially ahead of the 2022-23 season.
Nick Wright wrote on his social media, “The Jaguars are making the playoffs. Massive upgrade at HC & skill position guys, the obvious & inevitable jump for Trevor Lawrence in Week 2, and a very favorable schedule will lead Jacksonville to being the AFC’s final playoff team.”
Nick Wright vouches for Trevor Lawrence to have huge 2022-23 season
The 2021-2 season wasn’t all negatives for this quarterback. On the contrary, he had some breath-taking bright flashes, showcasing just what he is capable off. Lawrence dished out 3,641 passing yards and completed more big passes than the likes of Lamar Jackson and Ryan Tannehill. He was only one of the few ‘nine’ QBs to register over 300 yards and 3 TouchDowns in his debut NFL season.
This led to Nick Wright being an avid supporter of this talent, who perhaps just needs time and nourishment. Probably since the end of the previous season, Wright has been clear is showcasing his support for Trevor Lawrence being the ultimate game-changer on the biggest stage.
Will we witness Trevor bursting out under the guidance of new coach Doug Pederson? Remains to be seen as all eyes will be on this energetic 22-year-old as he takes center stage against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
