When Jim Isray made Jeff Saturday their new interim Head Coach after firing the experienced Frank Reich, many questioned the future plans of a leading football franchise. While Jeff had no NFL ‘Coaching’ experience, many analysts have been left blank to talk about this move.
However, that wasn’t the case with former Cleveland Brown player turned analyst – Joe Brown, who extensively criticized the Colts’ decision to hand over the top rank to Jeff Saturday. Having played for a lot of coaches during his own NFL stint, Thomas expressed his displeasure with the recent hiring of Jeff Saturday, for whom he believes there is simply no justification.
“It is one of the most disrespectful things I’ve ever seen in my entire life to the commitment, the lifestyle and the experience that it takes to be an NFL coach — any coach — much less the head coach of the Indianapolis Football Colts,” Joe Thomas said on the latest episode of Good Morning Football.
Joe Thomas gets brutally honest on colts making Jeff Saturday their interim HC
Indianapolis Colts have tried everything at their disposal – Jacoby Brissett, Brian Hoyer, Philip Rovers, Matt Ryan, Carson Wentz and Sam Ehlinger at their #1 position, yet none of the options have worked out.
So, perhaps Jeff Saturday could hold onto some much-required consistency. Having to sit at a record of 3-5-1, it is safe to say that Isray has thrown the kitchen sink by handing over the top spot to Jeff Saturday.
Thomas added, “You have got to be kidding me that this is something that Jim Irsay and Jeff Saturday, who’s not blameless for accepting the job, could have talked and decided that this was the best thing for the Indianapolis Colts at this juncture of the season.”
