While Skip Bayless seems to have taken the knee to adjudge Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles) as the top pick for the 2022-23 MVP accolade. His co-host, Shannon Sharpe seems to have opted for the other candidate – Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills) to take the top honors.
Both Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills have been emphatic in the first eight weeks of this season (Bills are 6-1). The only different being that the former team is undefeated. To make everyone aware about the individual stat of Josh Allen – the most clutch player of this season has thrown for 2,198 passing yards and 19 passing touchdowns along with two rushing touchdowns. Allen’s passes average over eight yards per catch.
On the same note, Sharpe quoted on the latest episode of Undisputed, “I think Jalen Hurts is having a phenomenal season, I thought he played well last night. I thought he did some good things last night. There are some concerns that we’ll talk about later that I saw with the Eagles for the first time. I saw some things that I didn’t like.”
Shannon Sharpe picks Josh Allen over Jalen Hurts as MVP
This could very well be the season where the MVP gets decided by the slightest of margins in true sense. With both Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts adding up to their claim in every successive game, will it be one amongst these two? Or a completely another player?
The Hall of Famer added, “Right now, I think this is Josh Allen’s award to lose, doing what he did, the game-winning to drive to come back against the Baltimore Ravens and the Kansas City Chiefs. I think that puts him ahead because we see how well Patrick Mahomes has played and we see how well Lamar Jackson’s playing and he went to those guys’ homes and beat both of those guys.”
Apart from Allen and Hurts – the likes of Tyreek Hill, Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson are also in the contention. As one player is superseding the other in every other list, the MVP top chart remains to be a mystery.
