It is rare to find Skip Bayless appreciating the natural prowess of an athlete wholesomely. Yet Cincinnati Bengals’ Quarterback, Joe Burrow has found his pleasure that it is to be the case with him. To think about it, early success is one of the most glorifying ways in which Burrow and Tom Brady are known to have experienced similar feet.
On the same note, this not only led Bayless to deem Joe Burrow as the next Tom Brady but also blatantly bashed Patrick Mahomes as he lost out on clinching the silverware last time around. However, the mockery did not stop there, the 70-year-old bold analyst highlighted all the drawbacks of the 26-year-old Kansas City star, only to upscale the prowess of Joe Burrow in front of his peer, Shannon Sharpe.
Bayless stated on the latest episode of Undisputed, “I’m making a point, this is about the next Tom Brady – and it ain’t about your guy Mahomes, cause he’s too inaccurate with the football, he takes too many chances and he cannot be trusted in the biggest moments with the football. His coach ruined and spoiled him by letting him throw from the left hand, from between his legs, behind the back and with the no-looks…and all the crap he gets away with. Yea he’s got a Cannon (of a throw) but that doesn’t win Championships.“
Bayless added, “The next Tom Brady is Joe Burrow. What he did last season was off-the-charts phenomenal and it was a way better year than Patrick Mahomes, who had his worst career year, last year. (Interrupts Sharpe from speaking) – What you need to think about is this kid (Joe Burrow) came off complete knee reconstruction, he was sacked (NFL high) 51 times in the regular season, was sacked 19 times in the postseason. A total of 70 times he got sacked by an offensive line in which they have replaced four out of the five starters, and still graded No. 1 overall by PFF.”
To talk about individual stats is a completely different aspect, but Bayless holds a strong point. Both Burrow and Brady’s throwing accuracy is amongst the very best. While the Tampa Bay marquee has achieved an efficiency rate of 60% throughout his career, on 9 occasions he has gone past 65%. Joe Burrow exceeded 65% throwing-efficiency in each of his two seasons.
Lastly, it is not only their efficiency but also the agility, vision, core strength and leadership, not only Bayless but various NFL analyst have gone onto suggest Burrow to fill into the shoes of the arguable NFL GOAT.
