“The pressure went mile high for Russ”- Skip Bayless claims Russell Wilson’s move to Denver put him under the bright lights unlike in Seattle

Making a big money move over $230 Million – from Seattle Seahawks to Denver Broncos, Russell Wilson was expected to change the face of the franchise in the 2022-23 season. Or at least to inspire the team back to its heroics once witnessed by the fan base. However, the reality suggests a completely different story.

Russell Wilson – Denver Broncos

Not only has this experienced QB – Russell Wilson, looked out of complete sorts but hasn’t been able to get in-form even one bit. With the Denver Broncos registering its latest loss against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night, Wilson could once again be witnessed struggling to make an impact on the offensive end.

On the same note, if you believe sports media veteran personality – Skip Bayless’ opinion, Russell Wilson seems to have too much spotlight and expectations bundled upon his shoulders that all and any of his shortcomings are looking horrendous. With the same player being in Seattle, Wilson blossomed because he was never hyped and was expected to be a consistent performance. However, the situation in Denver is completely different.

Skip Bayless on Russell Wilson’s stint with Denver Broncos

Skip Bayless stated on the latest episode of Undisputed, “All of the pressure was off in Seattle because they weren’t expected to do well. All of a sudden, the pressure went mile high for Russ. It felt like Denver took the Aaron Rodgers bait.”

Although Russell Wilson has been battling an injury (majority of the weeks) throughout the 2022-23 season, it is no excuse for him to perform this bad. Even when he has been 100% healthy, he just went 15 of 28 for 188 yards and a TouchDown against LA.

That being said with Broncos only winning 2 out of their last 6 games, will Russell Wilson’s heroics commence sooner rather than later in Denver? Remains to be seen.
