The former Las Vegas Raiders’ coach – Jon Gruden’s leaked mails has not only spoilt his reputation but were the major source of embarrassment for the entire NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell. Now in an interesting turn of events it seems like Gruden is going all out to accuse Goodell and the NFL for their actions.
When they league went onto request the court to drop the lawsuit brought in by Jon Gruden, things seemed to went haywire. Moreover, their attempts at arbitration also failed. To those who are unaware Jon Gruden is claiming that it the league and its Commissioner who were behind the leaks of his derogatory emails, which spoilt his image.
Gruden alleged, “In contrast to the formalities of the Washington Football Team investigation, defendants’ treatment of Gruden was a Soviet-style character assassination. There was no warning and no process. Defendants held the emails for months until they were leaked to the national media in the middle of the Raiders’ season in order to cause maximum damage to Gruden.”
What next in the Jon Gruden – Roger Goodell case?
In simpler terms Jon Gruden’s allegations mean that Roger Goodell and the NFL has a vested interested in getting the former out of the league and that the Las Vegas Raiders’ coach never got a fair chance of proving his innocence at any trail. The NFL Commissioner will find it an unnecessary distraction for the league. But there may be merit in the case because the iconic football league refuses to detail the full investigation behind their workplace practices, which center around racism and sexism, in the Washington Commanders’.
Apart from this John Gruden’s allegations – the Commissioner seems to be coming in the dark light a lot. Be it Dan Snyder as well, Goodell has been on the verge of getting a lot of his secrets out in the open. Could he be one of the culprits as well? Hopefully we will find sooner rather than later.
