A former NFL player has very high expectations for both Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens in the upcoming season.
The Baltimore Ravens are heading into the next season with a healthy roster. This wasn’t the case last time around, as they dealt with injuries to many of their players.
Due to their players being healthy this time around, the expectations are very high for them. Lamar Jackson will also be back healthy, and he has multiple points to prove.
He still hasn’t got his contract extension yet, and that is a point to be taken care of. If the Ravens don’t get Lamar signed up with the deal before the start of the season, there could be chaos around their camp.
However, it’s likely that Lamar Jackson will be given a huge deal before the start of the season. Due to it, he would like to perform and justify his price tag as well.
Former NFL player Sam Acho made some bold statements regarding the Ravens and Jackson recently. He said, “You Have a Great Tight End, Big Tight End. Mark Andrews. You Have Your Big Target There. Rashad Bateman Late in the Season Stepped Up Big. For Me, the Ravens Can Make a Deep Playoff Run, Here’s Why. Last Year November 28 They Were 8-3. They Were Leading the A.F.C. Then We Know What Happened.”
He added, “Not Overwhelm Do They — They Lost the Last Games in a Row, But Their Quarterback Got Hurt. They Were 8-3 Without Half Their Roster Being Healthy. Everybody Was Injured. Gus Edwards Was Hurt. K.J. Dobbins Was Hurt. Stanley. All Pro Tackle Was Injured. Marcus Peters. You Name It. Everybody Was Hurt. Now Everybody’s Healthy Everybody’s Healthy Now. Everybody’s Back Now. “
“They’ll Be Better This Year”: Sam Acho on Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens
Lamar Jackson in his young NFL career has already won an MVP award. When healthy, he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the game. Due to it, the Ravens are a legit Super Bowl contender every year.
Talking about the Ravens, Sam Acho added, “So for Me That’s Part of the Reason Why They’ll Be Better This Year. Deep Playoff Run. Look How They Are Built. Like on the Back End. We Mentioned Some of the Names of the Marlin Humphrey at Corner. You Got — You Drafted Kyle Hamilton at Safety. You Signed Marcus Williams at Safety. Kyle Fuller May Be Playing as Your Third Option. So Many — Marcus Peters.”
He added, “You Are Built to Defend the Bengals and Some of These Passing Teams. For Me You Get a Healthy Lamar Jackson, Put On 15, 20 Pounds of Muscle. You Have a Dominant Defense That’s Been Top Three in the League Three Out of the Last Four Years. They Are Built for November, December, and January Football. They Are Going to Make a Deep Playoff Run.”
The Ravens certainly have a great chance of making some decent noise in the upcoming season. The AFC North is up for grabs, and with Watson out for 11 games, and the Steelers in a rebuild, the competition is between the Ravens and Bengals. Hopefully, Lamar and Co. will be able to get the job done.
