Cincinnati Bengals have once again been thumped in the 2022-23 season, and this time by Dak Prescott-less Dallas Cowboys. This has made many speculate about the voids in the former team and leading the charge of questions is former NFL star, turned analyst – Shannon Sharpe.
White the Cincinnati Bengals made a valiant effort in the second half; their efforts came short in a 20-17 loss at a gun. The Cowboys got onto a fast start by driving 75-yards to score a TouchDown. While everyone was expecting Dallas to suffer the wrath of Bengals’ offensive line and strategies, Cooper Rush made some huge plays – bamboozling the Bengals’ defensive line.
Moreover, the majority of the game was frustrating offensively for Cincinnati Bengals – plenty of third down and longs or plays getting blown in the backfield. The only positive sight was to witness the defensive unit holding strongly onto Cowboys’ offense. However, many blame Mike Hilton as well, for dropping a potential game-changing interception.
Asking a question on the same lines, Sharpe tweeted, “Thought Bengals improved its O line? I can’t tell. Looks as horrible as last season.”
Cincinnati Bengals looked like a completely different team coming out after halftime. They managed to get a first down before facing a Fourth-and-4 where they were set to put. They even managed to hit Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd for the first time in the game, during the latter quarters. But those plays never ensured Bengals of a strategic comeback, as the Cowboys kept chipping away crucial points.
That being said, the Cincinnati Bengals have now fallen to 0-2 hole. As a result of which they are the bottom of an AFC North in the second week itself. Fortunately for them, every other team has also suffered at least one loss. When will the Joe Burrow-led Bengals wake up? Remains to be seen.
