The latest to join the Griddy dance-hype train is New York Jets’ Quarterback – Zach Wilson. Making his 2022-23 season debut for the team in Week 4 showdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Wilson managed to make his presence felt by catching a TouchDown pass on a Philly special play from the two.
To reveal his joy, Zach Wilson did not think much as he hit the ‘Griddy.’ To those who are not aware, this is one of those dance moves which have taken over the world, especially the sporting icons. From Memphis Grizzlies’ Ja Morant, to USMNT star Christian Pulisic – everyone has been caught in this fever.
While Zach Wilson might not be the from BYU to hit the griddy yet he is definitely the first person from BYU to do it in an NFL game. Safe to say, if this is the enthusiasm Wilson will have in the coming games, Jets could very well pull off some unexpected plays.

To talk about the particular play – New York were on top, facing a 2nd-and0gial from the 2-yard line early in the 2nd quarter itself. The New York Jets pulled out their own version of Philly Special, with wide receiver Braxton Berrios taking the handoff on a reverse and rolling to his right.
That being said, the former No. 2 pick missed the Jets’ first three games this season with a knee injury. With an expectation to sit out for at least 8 weeks, Wilson’s recovery has been impeccable. Plus, with the griddy he has just shown, it surely seems like Wilson’s knee is doing just fine.
That being said the Jets managed to secure their 2nd win of the 2022-23 season after they edged past Steelers 24-20. On the other hand, the Steelers have now endured three consecutive losses.
