What happened to Shaq Barrett of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

Published by

Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers are enduring a tough time in the 2022-23 regular season. It seems like there is further retribution to be added to their misery after star linebacker Shaq Barrett has been ruled out of the remaining season after tearing his Achilles as per the latest information provided by Adam Schefter.

So, when did this injury take place? During Bucs’ most recent loss against the Baltimore Ravens, Shaq Barrett had to be carted off the field with over 12 minutes remaining in the third quarter after hurting his ankle on a run by Baltimore’s running back Gus Edwards.

The injury demons are surely haunting the Bucs at the moment. To those who are unaware, Tom Brady’s unit was without three of their starting secondary players against Baltimore – Sean Murphy-Bunting, Antoine Winfield Jr and Carlton Davis all missed the contest on Thursday Night. This only goes onto indicate how short-handed the 2020 Super Bowl Champs are going to be. Now with Barrett out for the rest of the season, the road to comeback has become tougher for Brady’s men.

When will Shaq Barrett return?

Shaq Barrett is surely going to miss the next seven to nine month of footballing action. Given that Achilles injuries can even hamper the career of a player, Shaq would not want to rush onto the field, at any cost.

“It’s a tough break for him,” said Head Coach Todd Bowles who was dejected after the loss of his star linebacker, as per Bignewsnetwork. “Anytime you lose somebody like that, that commands double teams, it makes it harder for everybody else. He’s been consistent since he’s been here, he’s been productive, he started out playing well last night. So, it’s just a shame to see.”
