It hasn’t been the most ideals days for Miami Dolphins star Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. With his team enduring their first loss of the 2022-23 NFL Season, the 24-year-old was carried off the field on a stretcher on Thursday and was taken straight to Cincinnati Medical Bengals after suffering yet another hard hit.
In just the span of five days Tua Tagovailoa suffered from 2 major blows on his head. The second one surely took some juice out of him, as he went onto suffer from a hit which has potentially ruled him out of Week 5 showdown against the New York Jets. It is expected that Teddy Bridgewater would be starting in place of Tua for this particular game.
It was concerning to witness Tua on the ground as even the Cincinnati Bengals players were worried about the victim’s health status. While the NFLPA wants to hold the personnel involved responsible for adjudging the concussion protocol wrong in the first-go, but it remains to be seen what measures are taken in the coming days.
NFL Players Association willing to take ‘every legal option’ to investigate Tua Tagovailoa’s injury woes
The more concerning matter which comes to everyone’s mind is why Tua Tagovailoa was allowed to start the game even when (as per Miami Dolphins) he was suffering from back and neck injuries from a matchday prior with Buffalo Bills. Although coach Mike McDaniel does not believe that Tagovailoa’s injuries sustained against Cincinnati Bengals had a direct connection to Thursday’s circumstances.
Talking about Tua Tagovailoa’s most recent performance, he was 8-of-14 for 110 yards, no TouchDowns and an interception prior to his exit Thursday. The fifth-draft pick in the 2020 NFL draft will be taking his time now to recover to full strength as his team has already made a decent start to the season.
