After the Arizona Cardinals haven’t been able to get off to the best of parts in the 2022-23 season, their fans would surely be ecstatic ahead of Week 6. Their star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who has been riding a six-game suspension to start the season due to PED violation, is all set to return to boost the playoff aspiration of his team.
However, it won’t be Week 6 where Hopkins makes his debut in the 2022-23 season, but Week 7 at the earliest. Earlier it was reported that DeAndre Hopkins has already started his practices in full-swing to be back in the best shape possible. He has been working out in the Cardinals’ facility, meeting the coaches when his team locks horns against New Orleans Saints on a Thursday Night (October 20).
Moreover, it would be an interesting spectacle to see unfolding as it would be the first time DeAndre Hopkins will ensure Kyler Murray has two marquee WRs to rely upon. However, many do speculate that if Hopkins is going to have his share of targets, it might be time to sell high on Marquise Brown.
Why was DeAndre Hopkins suspended for 6-Games?
Back in May 2022, Arzona Cardinals marquee WR – DeAndre Hopkins was suspended by the league after he violated the performance-enhancing drug policy. The 30-year-old tested positive for taking performance-enhancing substance as traces of Ostarine were found in the report.
That being said, DeAndre Hopkins was adamant that he had no idea where such a substance came into his body. And the amount which was found in the first place could’ve been due to contamination in food products. Moreover, Hopkins emphasized how he never took any vitamins.
Last year Hopkins played only 10 games wherein he had 42 receptions for 572 yards and 8 TouchDowns. He missed plenty of games as he suffered an MCL injury. Will his return to the Cardinals’ unit boost the morale of the entire team?
