Who are the Heisman Trophy finalists in 2022?

Four marquee and upcoming footballing sensations – Quarterbacks for Georgia – Stetson Bennett, TCU – Max Duggan, Ohio State – C.J. Stroud and USC -Caleb Williams have all been named as the finalists for the 88th annual Heisman Trophy on ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown. The result of which will be announced on December 10, Saturday on ESPN.

Interestingly this is the fourth consecutive year where four finalists have been selected. The Heisman Trophy Trust began officially inviting finalists to New York City in 1982.

Stetson Bennett

Talking about each of the Heisman Trophy 2022 finalists, we’ll start with Stetson Bennett. The senior QB has completed 269-of-395 passes for 3,425 yards and 20 TouchDowns with just six interceptions while rushing for another 184 yards and seven TouchDowns. What’s even more impressive? This wasn’t just an individual show, Bennett has led Georgia to a perfect 13-0 regular season and the 2022 SEC title too.

Max Duggan

Max Duggan

He is a senior QB as well, Duggan has completed 239-of-368 passes for more than 3,320 yards and 30 TouchDowns with only four interceptions registered against his name. The same tally of TD passes is the third-most in school history. The 21-year-old passed for over 300 yards five times and had three or more TD passes in a game seven times. Lastly, Duggan ran for over 100 yards twice in a game.

CJ Stroud

CJ Stroud

The next finalist is Ohio State’s QB – CJ Stroud who is a sophomore QB and second-year starter. He has completed 235 of 355 passes for 3,340 yards with 37 TouchDowns. Impressively CJ has just six interceptions while leading the Buckeyes to an 11-1 record, a spot in the College Football Playoff.

This first-year USC starter has thrown for 4,075 yards on 296-of-448 passing with national co-leading 37 TouchDowns with just four interceptions. That being said, Williams’ tally of 47 total TDs led the country, as do his 282 points responsible for while his total TD are a school record. He threw for over 300 yards seven times, including twice over 400 yards.
