Many believe Lincoln Riley played a huge role in determining why Caleb Williams headed to Los Angeles to join the USC Trojans. Soon after the former left Oklahoma to take his new gig as HS of USC, Williams could not help but follow his coach out of the same place, even to the same place.
When speculations rose on why Caleb Williams joined USC for Oklahoma, he made his opinion crystal clear during his appearance against the Trojans Live on Tuesday. The Quarterback was evident in stating that he chose to follow Riley solely for his magical play-design ability, which more often than not got the best of him.
“Obviously, we know his plays are — I mean, his plays are insane,” Williams said on why he made the decision to follow Riley. “He draws it up, you go in game day and it’s like, ‘They work.’ You’ll look at ’em on the white board or on the screen and you’ll be like, ‘What is this?’ And then you go out, you practice it, you rep it, you rep it, you rep it, you rep it. And you go out there on game day and you drop back and it’s everything he — all the film you watched and everything that we’ve repped in practice and all of that. I don’t know how he does it, but it’s pretty magical.”
Well, the current season has all been about the legend of this Quarterback, he surely seems to have made the best decision for himself by joining the USC Trojans. With his NFL Draft visuals just months away, Williams has made use of each and every chance on why he is the ‘best’ player amongst players of his age.
Caleb joined Lincoln’s Oklahoma program as the No. 2 QB in the 2021 class. After taking over for Spencer Rattler early in the season, the five-star freshman logged 1,912 yards, 21 touchdowns and four interceptions on 136/211 passing (64.5%).
Having power, strength and determination to dominate the game, his arm and legs both seem to way too powerful for any defense to take care when Caleb Williams gets in his mood.
