Will Jonathan Taylor play against the Denver Broncos in Week 5?

Published by

It seems like the ironman streak is just going to end as Indianapolis Colts’ Jonathan Taylor is going to miss his first professional match. The fast and charismatic running back has been ruled after suffering from a potential ankle injury, which he sustained in the fourth quarter of Week 4 loss against the Tennesse Titans.

The Indianapolis Colts insisted on conducting walkthroughs given the short recovery time from Sunday to Thursday to Jonathan Taylor. However, it seems like the team is not concerned about the long-term absence of its spoken off player. With Jonathan out of action against the Broncos for Week 5, it is being expected that Philip Londsay would be replacing him in the line-up.

Moreover, along with Jonathan Taylor, safety Julian Blackmon (ankle), Line-backer – Shaquille Leonard (concussion) and defensive lineman Tyquan Lewis (concussion/broken nose) are also ruled out of Week 5 showdown against the Denver Broncos in Thursday’s night game.

Jonathan Taylor to miss Week 5 action for Indianapolis Colts

Even in the practice session on Tuesday, Jonathan Taylor was spotted wearing a boot on his right lower leg and was only a spectator. But it is obvious that last seasons’ rushing yards champion absence is going to be a matter of concern for the Indianapolis Colts, who are chasing wins at the moment.

Taylor has a tally of 328 rushing yards and one TouchDown in 81 attempts in the current campaign. Furthermore, his importance in the offensive line-up and strategies is evident, especially after the way he performed for the team in their season opener against the Houston Texans – running the ball a tremendous 31 times, averaging 5.2 yards per carry. He eventually finished the Colts’ season opener with 161 yards on the ground, one TouchDown and nine receptions.
