Fans were ever-so-ecstatic when Tampa Bay Buccaneers went onto acquire veteran Wide Receiver – Julion Jones in the recently concluded offseason. However, the hyped-up WR hasn’t been able to turn the chants around his way as he has been majorly side-lined since the beginning of the 2022-23 season.
Even ahead of the Primetime game between Bucs vs Chiefs on Sunday, Julio Jones’ official status has been listed as questionable as he continues his knee injury woes. As per the official statement of the team, Julio Jones will be a game-time decision. He’s not the only player hanging by the tread, even Chris Godwin’s inclusion depends upon game-time.
However, two players which are making their way back to the side is Mike Evans and Russell Gage, helping Tom Brady one-up against Patrick Mahomes. It is indeed safe to say, that Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ receivers are in a state of flux headed into this game in Week 4.
Having scored just over 50 points in the first three games of the season, there is no doubt that the likes of Julio Jones and Chris Godwin can prove to be of great use for the team. Moreover, with their defensive unit already showcasing their true caliber by playing impressively against the Green Bay Packers, in the second half, Jones’ inclusion in the offensive line could have broken the Chiefs’ defense into bits and pieces.
Jones practiced for limited time on Wednesday and Thursday before eventually ‘resting’ out in the practice session on Friday. Given that Brady’s offensive line has looked depleted throughout the 2022-23 season. He looked great in the season debut for the Bucs, catching 3-of-5 targets for 69 yards and also added 2 rushes for 17 yards before suffering his fatal knee injury.
Wich team amongst Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers come out on top? Remains to be an interesting story to be looked out for.
