“Worst Quarterback in football”: Nick Wright doubles on Russell Wilson’s criticism as Broncos hit rock bottom

Things got bad to worse for Russell Wilson when his teammate, Mike Purcell lost his cool on his own QB as the team suffered yet another loss in the 2022-23 season, this time against Carolina Panthers. As the frustration in Denver has been boiling for quite some time, Purcell’s antics had no response from Wilson and coach Nathaniel Hackett.

Denver Broncos’ offensive struggles continued in Week 12 as they managed to score only 10 points against the Panthers. On the same action, sports media personality – Nick Wright doubled down on claims suggesting that the Broncos players have themselves been left disappointed with Russell Wilson.

Nick Wright said on the latest episode of First Things First, “I think it was a terrible look, that when Purcell yelled at Russ, Russ, are you wanting to fire back? Yes, I want him to yell back. I don’t want him to always be like in character. I want him to fire back. And that is one of the many reasons the Broncos are in the worst position of any team in the league moving forward.”

Broncos are now 3-8 after the end of Week 12 and are certainly out of playoff contention. Having to give up so much to acquire Russell Wilson, they surely have been one of the most disappointing units to have featured in this season.

Wright added, “So how bad is Russell Wilson been? When I say he’s been the worst quarterback in football, it’s because he’s been the worst quarterback in football that has not been benched or been injured.
