Tom Brady and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers seemed to have caught the pace until they locked horns against the Cleveland Browns in Week 12. Having suffered their 6th defeat of the season, there is one person in particular which cannot help but imagine his GOAT, winning his 8th Super Bowl despite his team finishing with an 8-9 tally in the regular season.
The Bucs have often depended upon the clutch ability of Tom Brady to secure a win. With the 7xSuper Bowl Champ not looking at his best shape possible, this team has lost close contests. Especially with the likes of Atlanta Falcons being just one-win away from catching them at the top of the divisional standings, there is no denying that Brady’s men need to bring out their A-Game.
To those who missed the live action, the 45-yar-old QB completed 29-of-43 passes for 246 yards and two TouchDowns, and was sacked three times against the Cleveland Browns. Interestingly, it was the first instance in his career that his team held a seven-point lead in the final minute of the fourth quarter and lost the game.
Skip Bayless wrote in his tweet, “Wouldn’t it be funny if Tom Brady’s Bucs finished 8-9, barely won the division … then won the Super Bowl?”
That being said, the Buccaneers now have a chance of making their way back to winning ways as they lock horns against a depleted New Orleans Saints side in Week 13. A team which is 4-8 will surely not pose the same defensive threat to Brady’s men as others have.
Could there be a statement win on the cards? Remains to be seen.
