Zach Wilson turned into an extreme villain for the New York Jets when he refused to take accountability for his team’s loss against the New England Patriots. Having not played at his usual level himself, the young Quarterback decided to blame his defense for the loss. Which surely made some of his own teammates have ill feelings against him.
However, the charismatic QB quickly realized his fault and tried to make amends between him and his teammates in the Jets locker room, which ahs come to be known to all. Jets TE CJ Uzomah recently detailed what exactly happened and how did Wilson win his teammates over.
As per CJ, Zach Wilson not only apologized for his words, but even made an emotional gesture in front of his teammates, signifying his choice of words and what he actually wanted to portray. Interestingly, this came when Robert Saleh opted for Mike White as the #1 QB over Zach.
What emotional gesture did Zach Wilson do?
This isn’t the only revelation made by any New York Jets’ player. However, CJ Uzomah’s revelation corroborates an earlier testament from Jets wide receiver Corey Davis, who said that he’s glad Zach Wilson talked to the whole team and apologized.
Corey Davis said he’s ‘glad’ that Zach Wilson addressed the team after what happened Sunday. “It shows who he is, his character. He’s a leader and we’re going to need him moving forward.”
Apology might be a good start, but Wilson needs to pull up his socks if he wants his starting job back. Having led his team down since his return, let’s see if the charismatic QB can live up to his initial hype in the remaining games.
