NFL Analyst believes the 49ers are still Super Bowl contenders with Brock Purdy as the QB

Brock Purdy is set to fill in for an injured Jimmy Garoppolo for the rest of the season for the San Francisco 49ers.

The San Francisco 49ers will be without quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo for the rest of the season. Garoppolo broke his foot in the game against the Miami Dolphins, and Brock Purdy came in to replace him.

Brock Purdy kept his composure and played well while leading the 49ers to a big win over the Miami Dolphins. As a result, NFL Analyst Dominique Foxworth believes that the 49ers won’t be impacted much by the absence of Jimmy Garoppolo.

Speaking about Brock Purdy, Foxworth said, “I think that Brock Purdy can have success in that offense. We’ve seen Nick Mullens have success in that offense. I’ve seen Jimmy Garoppolo, I think Dan Orlovsky could step in that offense and throw into at least 200 yards and have some success.”

He added, “That defense is great to take the pressure off them. So yes, I think that if you believed that they had Super Bowl aspirations with Garoppolo, I don’t think that Purdy has done anything to make you believe that that’s gone now.”

The San Francisco 49ers are expected to win their division and have a potential playoff matchup lined up against the New York Giants. There is also a very big possibility that Jimmy Garoppolo might return in time if the 49ers are able to reach the NFC Championship Game.
