The Arizona Cardinals have had a very poor season and head coach Kliff Kingsbury is under a lot of pressure.
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray signed a lucrative long-term extension with the franchise prior to this season. However, this season hasn’t been good for them. There is a growing rift between Murray and head coach Kliff Kingsbury.
Many believe that Kliff Kingsbury should be relieved of his duties as the quarterback certainly isn’t on the same page as him. Former NFL scout and current John Middlekauff also believe that the situation in Arizona is a big concern.
Speaking about the Cardinals, he said, “This is a disaster. And twofold on this one. He was the guy pounding the table for Kyler Murray. Now it’s weird. They both share the same agent. Obviously, a huge part of his offense, at least in his mind was predicated and tied to this quarterback. But it feels like Kyler Murray does not like Kliff Kingsbury.”
He added, “He threw Kliff Kingsbury under the bus yesterday when they talked about an interception on a fourth out. He basically said we were F schematically, which is a direct reflection of I don’t know, the head coach who’s also the offensive coordinator and the schemer. So that situation like the relationship between coach and quarterback is not good.”
The Arizona Cardinals are currently 4-8 and if things don’t improve by the end of this season, Kliff Kingsbury will be gone and a new head coach will be brought in to maximize the talent of Kyler Murray.
