Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen played through an elbow injury for the most part of the season.
After Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen suffered the elbow injury in Week 9, it was a major issue for a brief period of time, but over the course of time, it has been less prominent.
Allen stated on Monday that the discomfort associated with the ailment followed a similar progression, and he explained that he felt as though he was possibly “trying to throw it a little differently mechanically” until a couple of weeks ago. He said this because he felt like he was “trying to throw it a little differently mechanically” until then. The most significant thing is that it seems like he won’t have to have surgery during the offseason to fix the problem.
Speaking about it, Allen said, “We don’t think an operation is necessary at this time. Obviously rest and recovery is going to be really good for it,”
Allen’s comments were mirrored by Bills head coach Sean McDermott on Monday. McDermott told reporters that the quarterback’s elbow required additional attention at first, but that it soon became unimportant. When McDermott reviewed Buffalo’s loss to Cincinnati in the Divisional Round on Sunday, one of the things that concerned him was the performance of the team’s guys up front on both sides of the ball.
After performing at a premier level in terms of pass rushing, Buffalo’s defensive front was unable to put enough pressure on Joe Burrow, the quarterback for the Bengals, on Sunday for the game to be decided by it. Burrow was only sacked once during the course of the game while completing 23 of 36 throws for a total of 242 yards and two touchdowns.
The Bills have a long offseason ahead of them, during which they need to find solutions to the problems they’ve been having since their patience is running out and Sean McDermott’s job may be in jeopardy.
Due to the way Allen played this season, he is being heavily criticized for it. He became turnover prone and it regressed his game. Playing with an elbow injury certainly didn’t help him, but the Bills quarterback needs to be better going forward.
The Buffalo Bills had a record of 13-3 and looked good in the regular season. They were champions of the AFC East division for the third year in a row and won a playoff game.
This was the year when the Buffalo Bills’ chances of winning a Super Bowl were the best they’d been in a long time. When the season began, everyone expected them to be the team to beat for the championship. They didn’t even make it to the final four of the NFL playoffs.
The Buffalo Bills got off to a strong start this season but didn’t seem so hot in the second half of the campaign. From the beginning of November onward, the Bengals were clearly the superior team. On Sunday, it was very evident that Cincinnati had the better team. Joe Burrow, the quarterback for Cincinnati, was superior to Josh Allen, the quarterback for Buffalo, who did not do very well.
The Bills entered this season as the favorites, so there was no other destination for them than the Super Bowl. An unsuccessful season would be considered to be one in which the team did not make it to the championship game at the very least. Even with a strong core and a brilliant quarterback, the window of opportunity to win the Super Bowl can shrink very rapidly. There was a very good possibility that the Bills would finally bring the Lombardi Trophy to Buffalo. Then, all of a sudden, the season was finished, which came much earlier than Bills fans had anticipated it would.
