Baker Mayfield was traded to the Carolina Panthers, and the Cleveland Browns owner thanked him for his services to the franchise.

Baker Mayfield was acquired by the Carolina Panthers from the Cleveland Browns. The former first-round pick finally has the opportunity to depart the Browns as he starts a new chapter in his career.

Since Deshaun Watson had been associated with the Browns, Baker’s departure from the team was imminent. Waston’s visit from Houston confirmed that the Browns were looking at Baker, and a transaction has already been completed.

After his exit from the Browns, the franchise owner Dee and Jimmy Haslem showed their appreciation towards their former quarterback. In a statement, they wrote, “We want to thank Baker for all his contributions to the Cleveland Browns From the moment he was drafted, he gave his all for this organization and this city.”

They added, “With his fierce competitive spirit, he excited the fanbase and accomplished things that no player at his position had done in Cleveland for a very long time. He also made a difference in the community…We are grateful for everything he did for this organization and wish him and Emily well in the future.”

Baker Mayfield played a huge role in changing the culture for the Browns

Baker Mayfield was the first overall pick. He had huge expectations set for him before entering the NFL, and he did quite well for the Browns.

Mayfield led them to the playoffs and changed the culture around the franchise. The Browns were not performing well for a long time before Baker arrived, and he started a new era for the franchise. Even though his departure came much sooner than many expected, the Browns fans will always love him.
