The Carolina Panthers selected Christian McCaffrey, a running back out of Stanford, as the eighth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Many people criticized the decision to choose McCaaffrey so early in the draft, but in the end, they were shown to be incorrect by the results he produced.

After the Jaguars selected Fournette with the fourth overall pick, the Panthers traded up to take McCaffrey on Thursday. Christian McCaffrey, who is the son of former Broncos receiver Ed McCaffrey, is widely considered to be the most versatile running back available in the 2017 draft. He had an average of 2,288.5 yards from scrimmage over the course of his final two seasons at Stanford.

After the draught, many people were uncertain as to whether or not McCaffrey, who stands 5-foot-11 and weighs 202 pounds, will be able to withstand the rigors of the NFL. So far in his career, McCaffrey has had 1,025 carries for 4,726 yards, 442 catches for 3,756 yards, and has scored 60 touchdowns. He was selected to play in 1 Pro Bowl.
