Here is the list of the quarterbacks that are the finalists for this years’ NFL MVP award and the winner will be announced soon.
On Wednesday, the candidates for The Associated Press award for the Most Valuable Player in the NFL in 2022 were released, and three of those players are scheduled to participate in a conference championship game this coming Sunday.
Two of the finalists, quarterback Josh Allen of the Bills and wide receiver Justin Jefferson of the Vikings, have already been eliminated from the playoffs. However, quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs, Joe Burrow of the Bengals, and Jalen Hurts of the Eagles will all play this weekend with the opportunity to advance their teams to the Super Bowl LVII.
Mahomes and Burrow, two potential winners of the Most Valuable Player award, will square off against one another in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday evening.
Mahomes is currently in contention to earn the Most Valuable Player title for the second time in his career. He was previously honored with this accolade for the 2018 campaign. This season, Mahomes ended with a career-high 5,250 passing yards and 358 rushing yards. He led the league in passing yards and passing touchdowns (41) and was second in quarterback rating. Mahomes was also second in the league in passing yards (105.2).
