Michael Lee McDaniel is an American football coach who is the head coach of the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL).

Mike was born on March 6, 1983, in Aurora, Colorado. He went to Smoky High School in 2001. He also went to Yale University, where he played football as a wide receiver, and completed his bachelor’s degree in history.

His coaching career started when he interned with the Denver Broncos in 2005 and worked under Gary Kubiak along with Robert Saleh and Kyle Shanahan. Let us take a deep dive into details about the head coach of the Miami Dolphins.

Mike McDaniel has been the head coach of the Miami Dolphins since 2022. During his tenure, the Dolphins set a 10-8-0 record. Mike was hired as an offensive assistant in 2006 by the Houston Texans under head coach Gary Kubiak.

Daniel had assisted three offensive coordinators and future head coaches, Troy Calhoun, Mike Sherman, and Kyle Shanahan.

He also worked with the Washington Redskins in 2011 under Mike Shanahan, and in 2013, he was promoted to the position of receivers coach. In 2014, he was hired by the Cleveland Browns as the receivers coach under head coach Mike Pettine.

In 2015, he was hired by the Atlanta Falcons as an offensive assistant under new coach Dan Quinn. He was hired by the San Francisco 49ers as their run game coordinator under longtime associate and new head coach Kyle Shanahan, and he worked with them for nine seasons.

In 2019, Mike and the Niners appeared in the Super Bowl, but they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 31-20. He was promoted to the position of offensive coordinator in January 2021. Mike is the fourteenth head coach of the Miami Dolphins, and he was hired in 2022.

In September 2022, he helped the Dolphins gain a victory against the New England Patriots with a winning score of 20-7. Another crucial fact is that he is the first coach to gain a victory since Mike Saban in 2005.

He also played a role in helping the Miami Dolphins defeat the Bills for the first time since 2018. McDaniel is biracial, and he is married to Katie, and they have a daughter together.
