Stephen A Smith didn’t shy away from calling out Bill Belichick as the Patriots continue to look worse without Tom Brady.
Things are not looking good for the New England Patriots in the upcoming season. All their division rivals have strengthened their roster, but the Patriots haven’t.
Recently, Stephen A Smith fired shots at head coach Bill Belichick. He believes he forced Tom Brady out of the Patriots, and now the team is looking worse and worse as years go by.
Stephen A Smith said, “What We Have to Say About Bill Belichick Is Bro, Every Year That You’re Without Tom Brady, You Look Worse Because You Didn’t Want to Keep Him There. Now, if Tom Brady Left in Free Agency Guys, and I’m Talking About, I Just Want to Leave, I Don’t Want to Stay, I’m Ready to Move On With My Life and They’re Hugging One Another and Singing Kumbaya Jeff Saturday and Bart Scott, That’s Difference.”
The breakup between Belichick and Brady was ugly. The duo together won six Super Bowls but now Belichick isn’t looking like the Belichick of the past without Brady. It is a major concern for everyone associated with the Patriots franchise.
Stephen A claims if Tom Brady wanted to stay in New England he would have
Stephen A Smith later also brought up his convo with Patriots owner Robert Kraft. He claimed that if Tom Brady would have wanted to stay in New England he would have. However, due to his relationship with Belichick, Brady decided to leave.
SAS said, “But We Heard the News About Tom Brady Wanting to Leave Because Bill Belichick Wasn’t That Receptive to Keeping Him. Getting Jimmy Garoppolo and Drafting Him With a Second-Round Pick. You Know Jimmy Garoppolo Was Supposed to Be the Heir Apparent and Robert Kraft Had to Step in for You to Keep Tom Brady.”
He added, “All This Stuff Was Going On and the Belief Is Tom Brady Was Forced Out and Robert Kraft Told Me Personally, I’m Quoting Here ‘If There Was a Way, if Tom Brady Had Said I Want to Stay, He’d Be Here.’”
Keeping Brady would have helped the Patriots to win furthermore Super Bowls. Brady left the team that drafted him and won the Super Bowl with the Buccaneers in his first-ever season with them. This speaks about the brilliance of TB12 and how much the Patriots miss him.
Will Mac Jones be the answer to the Patriots problems?
Mac Jones had an impressive rookie season for the New England Patriots. He brought belief back to the franchise, and they made the playoffs. Against all odds, Jones was able to take this team to the postseason.
Even though he had great success in his rookie season, there is no guarantee that he will repeat that in the upcoming season. The AFC East has gotten tougher, and due to it the chances of the Patriots making the playoffs are very less.
If Mac Jones and Bill Belichick are able to lead this current Patriots team to another playoff appearance this season, then it would be a remarkable achievement without a doubt.
