“Nick Bosa is playing at a much higher level than Micah Parsons”- Skip Bayless weighs his opinion on the DPOY debate

Published by

While many thought, Micah Parsons was the clear-cut DPOY favorite when the 2022-23 NFL Season began, they had no idea about the incoming wrath of Nick Bosa. Safe to say, for a side which has consistently been haunted by the injury demons, Bosa has held the defensive unit as tight as ever against star-studded teams like Dolphins and Seahawks.

Nick Bosa

The spoken off pass rusher has already been named NFC Defensive Player of the Month for November for his three Quarterbacks sack total and 19 total pressures, wherein there is a tally of 5 hits, 11 hurries.

Moreover, sports media veteran Skip Bayless too has decided to join the Nick Bosa-Bandwagon as he emphasized on how Micah Parsons is trailing in the tightly contested DPOY race. He wrote in his tweet, “I hate to admit this publicly, but right now the 49ers pass rush is better than the Cowboys – and right now Nick Bosa is playing at a much higher level than Micah Parsons.”

Is Nick Bosa the leading DPOY candidate?

Fans would be aware that the Week 13-contest against the Miami Dolphins, 49ers were flourishing on the court with Nick Bosa leading the defensive unit. He matched his November sack total in a single game, equalizing seven total pressures including three sacks, two hits and two hurries. As a result of which, he was deservingly named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week.

San Francisco 49ers’ real strength is not their offense, but their defense led by Nick Bosa. In every game, where their defense has been able to pose a serious threat, stars like Deebo Samul, Christian McCaffrey and Brock Purdy have gone onto make the most of the advantage.

Lastly, Micah Parsons hasn’t been at the best of his forms. Being a dynamic linebacker perhaps his ability as a versatile player seems to be haunting him. Having to do so much for a side which lacks depth, will Parsons’ DPOY ambitions be stolen by Bosa? Remains to be seen.
