Nick Kyrgios’ love for basketball and NBA is not new to anyone. He is an avid follower of the NBA and supports the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers.

The Australian tennis star has often been spotted sporting jerseys of NBA teams during practice sessions. He played basketball in May along with former American basketball player, Corey Williams.

According to a recent Twitter post, NBA star Herb Jones stated in an interview that he drives the same car he drove during his college days. He also wears the same Pelican gear to most of his games instead of branded clothing that he can easily afford. He tries to save as much as he can and care what people say about his humble approach to life as long as his family lives a better life.

“I try to save, man. I’m not worried about what somebody would say about my appearance if my family is doing good or better than what they were.”

Kyrgios quote retweeted the tweet and lauded Herb Jones for his selfless take. The 2022 Wimbledon runner-up wrote: “Love this”.

The 2022 Australian Open doubles champion Nick Kyrgios isn’t a player that you will see playing in all the tournaments in a season. He takes frequent breaks from the court to keep himself rejuvenated.

Nick Kyrgios does not have a coach and earlier in the year at Wimbledon, he explained the reason behind the same.

“I don’t want to put anyone in trouble I don’t have a coach because I don’t want to bother anyone who is in charge of him. I know my game well and I know what I can do.”

After the nominees for the ATP Coach of the Year award were announced, Kyrgios wanted his name to be put up on the list of nominees as well.

“Tbh I should be in coach of the year, I coached myself to a Wimbledon final 😂”

List of coaches nominated for the ATP Coach of the Year for 2022

Five coaches have been nominated and one among them will be conferred with the ATP Coach of the Year award for 2022.

Christian Ruud – Casper Ruud’s coach and father has made the cut and deservingly so as his child has had a sensational season. Ruud won 3 titles in the year and finished runner-up at the French Open and the US Open. He reached No. 2 in the ATP rankings at one point.

Michael Russel – The American tennis coach is on the list after guiding Taylor Fritz to three titles in 2022. He also reached a career-high ranking of world No. 8 in October and also made his ATP Finals debut.

Goran Ivanisevic – Novak Djokovic has had a difficult year outside the court as he may not take part in various tournaments owing to his unvaccinated status against COVID-19. However, the Serbian legend won his seventh Wimbledon title and sixth ATP Finals title alongside three other titles. Ivanisevic deservingly found a place on the list.

Juan Carlos Ferrero – Carlos Alcaraz’s coach is one of the favorites to be the ATP Coach of the Year. He coached Alcaraz to winning his first major title and finishing the year as the No. 1 ranked player in the ATP rankings.

Frederic Fontang – The Frenchman coached Felix Auger-Aliassime and the Canadian youngster played exceptionally in the second half of the season.
