CSGO Pro Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom is joining his brother in the Team Liquid Valorant Roster. He will replace James “Kryptix” Affleck in the team.
There were rumours circulating around the internet about the former CSGO Pro trying out for the Team Liquid Valorant team. It has now been confirmed that Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom will join his brother Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom. The brother duo will compete in the Valorant Last Chance Qualifiers to qualify for the Valorant Champions event.
Nivera is the younger brother of the one tap master ScreaM. He previously competed in small events with B and C tier teams. Nivera was later picked up by Teams Heretics to join their CSGO roster. He competed in various CSGO tournaments for Team Heretics from April 2020 to October 2020. He later joined the Team Vitality six man roster. The six man roster consisted of Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, Dan “apEX” Madesclaire, Cedric “RpK” Guipouy, Richard “shox” Papillon and Kevin “misutaaa” Rabier. Team Vitality won Intel Extreme Masters XV and Blast Premier: Fall 2020.
Like many other CSGO pro players, who were unhappy with the CSGO competitive scene, he made the decision to switch games and join Valorant. Valve has been criticized heavily by the CSGO community for failing to maintain the competitive scene. Nivera joined the Valorant scene and tried out with his brother’s team, Team Liquid. Team Liquid officially picked him for their roster as Kryptix decided to step away from the Valorant competitive scene to deal with some personal issues. It is unclear whether Team Liquid will be a six man roster after Kryptix returns.
Team Liquid will compete in the EMEA Last Chance Qualifiers to secure a spot for the Valorant Champions Event. They have proven themselves in the past when they qualified for the Master event in Iceland. They lost to the North American team Vesion1 in the first round. The Valorant Champions Event will be held in Berlin and will have 16 teams from various regions competing for the Champions title. This will be the first Champions event for Valorant.
