LeBron recently cemented his legacy as an all-timer – as a pioneer of the sport last week when he broke the long-standing all-time scoring record of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the NBA. Already being the first player to rack up 10,000 career points, rebounds and assists, LeBron solidified his claim by moving clear of Abdul-Jabbar at the top in their match against Oklahoma City Thunder.
While the feat puts LeBron right up in the conversation for the Mount Rushmore of basketball, it also helps his career come full circle – as the rookie from Akron, Ohio who was dubbed as the “Chosen One” before he stepped foot into the NBA quite literally conquered the NBA. However, it has recently surfaced that it was not the only time incredible things were expected from James.
An NBA analyst has shared an incredible story of when the future Hall of Famer was a young student in school, as far back as when he was in seventh grade.
What was LeBron James’ seventh-grade story all about?
According to an NBA analyst, LeBron’s principal said he could grow up to be the President of the United States of America back when he was in seventh grade.
In a recent episode of the First Things First show while discussing LeBron’s feat, NBA analyst Chris Broussard revealed that when LeBron James was in his seventh grade at St. Vincent’s and St. Mary’s school. According to Broussard, LeBron’s principal chalked him out to be worthy of running for the President of the United States of America when he was old enough to do so.
Imagining LeBron at the White House certainly takes some doing, but one can be hopeful that LeBron – who has shown his political inclinations already with his vehement criticism of former President Donald Trump – will be half as good at it as he is at the game of basketball.
