Novak Djokovic vs Denis Shapovalov is a semi-final match at Wimbledon 2021 and here is the preview, live stream details, weather forecast and more
Novak Djokovic looks unstoppable as he sailed into the semi-finals of the Wimbledon Championships beating Hungarian Martin Fucsovics 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 to face Dennis Shapovalov.
The Canadian was part of a 5-set thriller against Russian Karen Khachenov 6-4, 3-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-4 in 3hrs 26 mins. He is the first Canadian man to reach the last 4 at Wimbledon since Milos Raonic in 2016.
“When you look at the scoreboard first thing it will be 0-0. Nothing else matters. It’s a tennis match and it can go either way. I have full belief in myself and my team. Anything is possible,” said Shapovalov who is in his first Grand Slam semi-final.
Djokovic is on the quest for a hat-trick of Slams in 2021. He has had an impressive record the season winning the Australian and French Open.
“Overall, I feel like I’ve been hitting the ball well throughout the entire tournament, putting myself exactly where I want to be [in the] semi-finals. I’m not spending too much energy. Now I really have to be consistent from the first to last point in next match, and hopefully another one on Sunday.”
Djokovic is now into his 10th Wimbledon semifinal, the third-most in men’s tennis after Federer and Jimmy Connors. The 34-year-old Serbian, who is currently on an impressive 16-match winning streak, from a ninth Australian Open crown (def. Medvedev) in February and a second title at Roland Garros (def. Tsitsipas) last month.
The pair have been facing each other frequently in the last two years. Since 2019, they have met each other six times, with Djokovic winning every meeting. Shapovalov has never beaten The Serb since the first meeting at the 2019 Australian Open.
Djokovic has only dropped two sets against Shapovalov and will keep that in mind during tomorrow’s semi-final.

The crowds for the semi-final and final are set to be in 100% capacity which will make the matches even more exciting.
The likelihood for rain tomorrow is moderate at 50%. The Centre Court will host both semis in the men’s and women’s draw. The Wimbledon 2021 weather forecast adds that temperature looks to be around 23degree Celsius. The wind is 14 km/h.
Wind speeds have been frequenting throughout the week at SW19, which is evident in games seen.
Djokovic is playing like he is on a league of his own with his shot-making prowess on display. He is the likely favourite to win the tournament after his devastating form in the last 10 days.
Shapovalov, meanwhile, has had some major scalps in his career, but has lacked the consistency needed to make it to the final stages. This time around, he gets a chance to change that as he faces the World No. 1.
With the poor record, the World No. 12 will try to find a weakness in his opponent’s game. At this point, that looks unlikely seeing how the Serb has been playing.
The winner of the face is likely to face Italian Matteo Berretini who faces Federer’ conqueror, Hubert Hurkacz.
Prediction: Djokovic in 4 sets
