Conor McGregor tweeted that his next fight would be against Diego Sanchez

Irish MMA legend Conor McGregor tweeted that his next fight would be against Diego Sanchez.

McGregor hasn’t fought since his return bout in the UFC. He faced ‘Cowboy’ Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 and won the fight in just 40 seconds.

There has been a lot of talk about who McGregor could fight next in the UFC.

Dana White added more fuel to the fire by suggesting that the Irishman could face the winner between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Khabib defeated McGregor in his final fight before the Cerrone one, and that would be a blockbuster rematch.

However, Sanchez was in action at UFC Rio Rancho and won the fight via a DQ. His opponent, Michael Pereira landed an illegal knee and the match was called off.

Pereira dominated the match and Sanchez shouldn’t have won the clash, but the call was correct and he was handed a DQ win.

McGregor wasted no time in suggesting he wanted to fight Sanchez and tweeted the same:

It could have been a joke from McGregor regarding him fighting Sanchez next. The Irishman had claimed he was ready for another clash after beating Cerrone and it will be interesting to see who he takes on next.

Twitter, however, didn’t see the funny side of things and some fans called McGregor out for challenging a 38-year-old:

McGregor is still one of the biggest names in the UFC scene and it will be interesting to see how the Ferguson vs Khabib fight goes.

Khabib should be the slight favourite for this, but Ferguson cannot be taken lightly.

McGregor would want to avenge his defeat against Khabib but a fight against Ferguson would be great too.
