Why Everton are doing the right thing by loaning out Sandro Ramirez

Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay has confirmed that the two clubs have reached an agreement and the move would be made official subject to a medical.
“It is true that we are quite close [to signing Sandro], there is agreement with him and with Everton, but today they play a cup game [against Rotherham in the Carabao Cup] and, if all goes well, he could come tomorrow,” he told reporters. (ESPN)
“If it is done, it will be done tomorrow and he would come on loan without a purchase option.”
The 23-year-old Spanish striker arrived at Goodison Park last summer from Malaga after the Toffees triggered a £5.25 million release clause in his contract, signing a four-year deal with the Merseyside outfit. (Sky Sports)
Prior to his move to Everton, the former Barcelona striker had enjoyed a spectacular campaign with Malaga, bagging 16 goals in 31 appearances. However, things hardly worked out the way he would have intended in England. Sandro managed just a solitary goal and an assist in his first 15 appearances for the Toffees and soon found himself falling out-of-favour with then manager Sam Allardyce.
Having failed to make much of an impact, the Spaniard was loaned out to Sevilla for the second half of the campaign. Things did not improve for him back in his homeland, as he failed to score a single goal in 18 games (only 7 starts) for his temporary club.
Back with Everton ahead of the new season, the 23-year-old was given a chance to stake a claim for a starting berth by new manager Marco Silva during the pre-season campaign but he clearly did not make much of an impression. The striker was an unused substitute in the Toffees’ Premier League opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, he was dropped out of the matchday squads for the subsequent fixtures.
With the likes of Cenk Tosun, Oumar Niasse and Dominic Calvert-Lewin all ahead of him for the striker’s berth in Silva’s side, along with summer signing Richarlison, Sandro’s path to regular first-team football does look cumbersome.
And that is why Everton have done the right thing by allowing him to return to Spain on loan for the season. The player is likely to receive more minutes at Sociedad, considering they just have Willian Jose and a misfiring Jon Bautista as their options up front. The regular playing time should help Sandro regain his goalscoring mojo and replicate the form he had shown for Malaga in the 2016/17 season.
