Fifth seed Anhelina Kalinina squares off against French qualifier Jenny Lim in the round of 16 of the Open de Limoges on Tuesday.

The Ukrainian tennis pro has been in good form as of late. She came into the tournament after reaching back-to-back semi finals in the ITF event in Shrewsbury and the WTA Angers Arena Loire Open. Kalinina is one of the favorites to win the competition and she has certainly began her campaign on a bright note.
In the round of 32, Kalinina took on Carole Monnet. The youngster from France was competitive in the first set. However, Kalinina proved to be just too strong as she claimed the set 6-4. Everything went downhill thereafter for Monnet as she got bageled in the second set. The match ended 6-4, 6-0 in favor of Kalinina.
Jenny Lim
The 17-year-old won her first match in the main draw of a competition since getting past Madelief Hageman in the round of 32 of an ITF event in Belgium in August.
In the qualifiers, Monnet picked up a relatively comfortable win against fellow Frenchwoman Marine Partaud in straight sets 7-6, 6-3. Monnet’s opponent in the round of 32 was the experienced German player Anna-Lena Friedsam. Monnet didn’t have to play Friedsam as the latter decided to pull out of the competition prior to the match.
