In-form Clara Tauson locks horns with Russia’s Varvara Gracheva in the quarterfinals of the Open de Limoges on Thursday.

The 19-year-old came has been in terrific form as of late and she has made it to her fifth quarterfinal on the trot. Tauson has not lost a set so far in the competition and has shown great vigor in crucial junctures to finish matches.
The talented youngster from Denmark began her campaign in Limoges with a hard-fought win against the experienced Kristina Mladenovic in the first round. Mladenovic fought well in both sets but Tauson held her nerves to win 5-7, 6-7 (3-7). Tauson also benefitted from the 10 double faults committed by her opponent.
Varvara Gracheva
The Russian youngster might not have been in great form coming into the tournament but she has pulled up her socks and performed quite well in Limoges so far.
Gracheva got off to a flying start as she defeated French veteran Alize Cornet in the round of 32. The third seed made light work of Gracheva in the first set but the latter managed to bounce back incredibly to pick up a sensational come-from-behind victory in three sets 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. In the round of 16, Gracheva faced another French player in Audrey Albie. Gracheva dominated the encounter and eventually won the match in straight sets 6-0, 6-3.
