Why Bournemouth must retain Eddie Howe despite Everton interest

Eddie Howe has been linked with a move to Everton following the sack of Marco Silva, as per The Telegraph.

After their narrow win against Manchester United, Bournemouth lost five successive Premier League games. As a result, they have slipped into a relegation battle and have won only once in their last 11 games in all competitions.

As far as Howe is concerned, he would be an excellent choice to take over at Everton and his incredible work at Dean Court clearly demonstrates that point. Although he is not a local lad, he is a proven Premier League campaigner at this point.

Having showcased his mettle on the south coast with Bournemouth, the Englishman would be an excellent choice for the Toffees.

Eddie has overachieved with a club that has both limited talent and resources. At just 40, he is still young but has over 450 games of experience in English football. There is also something truly special about Howe’s career – after all, he has the ability to improve individual players and to create a team that performs far beyond its potential.

Consider this: six of the Bournemouth players in the squad used to play for the club in the League One. He has taken a club from the bottom of the Football League to the top half of the Premier League. He even went on to beat Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.

With a clever approach to transfers, man-management skills and confidence, he has already garnered a reputation for being one of the most popular managers in English football. Howe has achieved a great deal in a short span of time and a bigger job is inevitable, even if he lacks the experience of managing one of the top-six Premier League clubs.

Howe’s Bournemouth have become synonymous with an attack-minded yet devil-may-care approach that is often no more than a dangerously romantic idea.

Already the longest-serving manager currently in the English top-tier, Howe has been a pioneer for Bournemouth. Although he is still in the developmental phase of his managerial career, he ticks all the boxes and it is imperative for Bournemouth to retain his services.
