Why Leicester City must sign Bradley Dack from Blackburn Rovers
Leicester City appointed Claude Puel as their new manager last October. And since his appointment, he has acted as a messiah for the Foxes by steadying the ship following a disastrous few months under Craig Shakespeare. Ultimately, Leicester made an impact by finishing 9th.
The summer arrived and Leicester’s star man Riyad Mahrez got his dream move to Manchester City, leaving a huge hole in Puel’s team. To fill this up, Puel signed James Maddison from Norwich City. The 22-year-old has started brightly in the Premier League so far. In fact, he put in an impressive performance at Old Trafford and then scored against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the second game week.
Although Mahrez’s absence is not being felt as sorely, Puel does have another issue which involves Jamie Vardy. The former England international, 31, has started to show signs of slowing down. But the Leicester boss must find a worthy replacement for the talismanic figure.
The Sun reports that Leicester City are interested in Blackburn Rovers star Bradley Dack and want to purchase him either in the winter transfer window or next summer for £10million. Doing so could prove to be a shrewd move for the Foxes, as Dack currently plays either as a No.10 or as a second striker with Daniel Graham.
As seen from exploits in the previous campaign, he has a keen eye for the goal. In fact, he scored 18 times in the League One last season, helping Blackburn secure promotion into the Championship. Even in the 2018/19 season so far, Dack has scored 4 goals and assisted 1 in all competitions.
Maddison has already proven to be a hit in the English top-flight and there is no reason why Dack cannot do the same. If Leicester manage to sign him, it would be a perfect move for all parties involved.
Leicester will get their hands on a talented player who knows where the goal is. For Dack, 24, it will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play in the Premier League. As far as Blackburn are concerned, they could receive a good amount of money to bolster their forces and survive in the Championship.
