Here are the first impressions of how Tombs of Amascut “feels” and what you need to know to prepare for it.
Tombs of Amascut or Raids 3 went live on August 24, and with it, OSRS players got a new challenge and a new way to make OSRS GP.
You’ll be able to obtain untradeable and tradeable OSRS items, amongst which, with some luck, you might get the Shadows of Tumeken powered staff that’s currently worth almost half a billion OSRS gold. You’ll also obtain valuable rewards such as Masori armor pieces that currently go for tens of millions of OSRS gold or the Eldinis ward for 15 million OSRS gold.
You’ll need the Desert quest line completed to access OSRS Tombs of Amascut. You will need the Fairy Ring transportation system or a Pharaoh Sceptre to reach the raid location easily.
For the Pharaoh Sceptre, you’ll need to first add the teleport to your sceptre by interacting with an obelisk near the raid’s entrance and obtaining the closest teleport.
However, if you want to spam the raids, you won’t need the teleport much, maybe just to restock on the GE or sell the juicy rewards for some OSRS gold.
Once you enter the Raids Pyramid, you’ll have access to a bank chest, your rewards chest, and a center obelisk where you can create or join parties and select your invocations.
You can join one of the dedicated worlds for bigger chances of finding a party, or you can join a community that will bring you to the raids.
You can raid solo or in parties of up to 8 people, which will affect the difficulty of boss spawns and hp. OSRS Tombs of Amascut is designed to immerse you in the desert world with the pyramid theme. You won’t be able to kill the bosses and move on simply—you’ll have to explore multiple rooms and solve puzzles to access the bosses’ layers.
It will challenge not only your combat ability but your puzzle-solving skills and teamwork as some of the puzzles and boss mechanics require you to work as a team and communicate efficiently to solve, kill, and overcome the challenge.
OSRS Tombs of Amascut is a magical raid, but you’ll need all three combat styles to take down the four bosses and the final boss successfully.
When learning the raid, bring your best magic gear, a blowpipe, and your melee gear with as few switches as possible, so you have more space in your inventory for the learning part. A serpentine helm can also be helpful as you won’t have to worry about bringing anti-poison.
To help with the challenge, you’ll also receive raid-specific consumables to help you keep up your HP and Prayer.
Before attempting the raid for the first time, it’s important to remember that players will develop better methods and strategies since it is still new content. It’s also crucial to keep in mind that Jagex will most likely go through several balances and rebalances of the raid until reaching a point that’s considered balanced.
The bosses can feel pretty hard mechanically, but there’s currently only one boss that can bring more challenge to the players on top of the final Wardens room. However, you might find all the bosses hard or none of them.
If you pay enough attention to your surroundings and set your invocations to a minimum, you’ll be able to learn the raid pretty fast and enjoy the great rewards it could bring you.
For the learning phase, you should bring as many consumables as possible to stay alive to learn the mechanics.
Raids 3 has a vast potential to bring you a lot of OSRS gold, but at the same time, you’ll need to spend quite a bit for the most optimal gear and consumables, such as the tens of millions of OSRS gold you’ll need to spend on an Ancestral set.
